A Nigerian lady, Mary Ero has recounted how singer Banky W was the only one who helped her 8-years ago when she was abandoned by her child’s father, sacked from MTV where she worked, diagnosed with HIV and also evicted by a friend she was staying with. Read her heartwarming story below… “ So today this happened. On the surface it might look like an ordinary celebrity / child-of-starstruck-parent photo opp but there is a deeper story here. About 8 years ago, while about 6 months pregnant with this little girl here, I fell onto terribly hard times. I have chronicled most of it on my social media platforms but to summarise it, I was abandoned by my child’s father, lost my house, was kicked out unceremoniously from my job at MTV for no reason, and to crown it all, diagnosed HIV positive. Shortly after that, my then best friend, with whom I was staying, decided she had had enough so I was given an eviction notice. Long story short, I began to reach out to my friends and acqua

"The Last Thing Nnamdi Kanu Told Me"

Image
..Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lead counsel of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has disclosed his last conversation with Nnamdi Kanu. Ejiofor also lamented that he has not been able to reach Kanu since the military stormed his Afara-Ukwu, Umuahia, Abia State home. The lawyer, in a chat wit Sun, recalled that he got a call from Kanu on 14th September that army personnel were shooting sporadically around his house. “I quickly issued a statement which was widely published on the social media alerting the world of what was going on; that my client was under siege as the military was shooting for over 40 minutes trying to gain access into the house. “He called me again that they were at the gate shooting to gain access, I asked him to remain inside, while I continued to let the world know. That was our last communication and I never heard from him again after the attack. And the rest is now story.” On the fate of the sureties who are expected to produce the IPOB leader in court, Ej

5 Lessons Upcoming Artistes Can Learn From Wizkid

The race to make it big in the entertainment is indeed an uphill task. Everyone wants to be a one-hit wonder and blow immediately just like Humble smith. Several challenges abound for upcoming artistes especially for those without a record label. Dropping singles every month, collaborating with other artistes on joint tracks, performing for a meager pay at shows/concerts, appealing to streets and radio DJs to play your song, settling the bloggers who will publicize your brand, it’s really a long way to stardom. Wizkid was in those shoes too even though he started early as Lil Prinz at the age of 11, he was in the category of ‘legendary hustlers’ as he was a studio rat together with Siri (remember him in Ojuelegba?) in the famous MoDogg studio. However, Wizkid’s ascension from an upcoming artiste to arguably Africa’s best exploit to the world is extraordinary yet surprising. Wizkid has broken and set new records in the industry. He’s the perfect example to follow. Vi

Olusegun Obasanjo: I Had N20,000 In Account In 1999 Didn't Mean I Wasn't Wealthy

OBJ in London, speaks on Buhari, governors, secession UROWAYINO WARAMI 30 SEP 2017 Says Yar’Adua was ignorant Calls reporter ‘bloody idiot’ over questions on Atiku Abubakar As the lift in his luxury London hotel rushes upwards to the 11th floor, Olusegun Obasanjo squeezes my arm warmly as he recounts his busy schedule of late. His aide and two PR people nod approvingly as he talks of his jet-setting across Africa, his upcoming appointment with the Archbishop of Canterbury, and his trip to New York straight after. With a new book to promote, the former Nigerian president from 1999 to 2007 has been busy. So too has the PR firm behind the book, offering him up for interviews far and wide. Obasanjo can certainly handle it. Aged 80, he may look like a cuddly grandfather. But he still has plenty of fuel in his tank and fire in his belly, as I am to find out later this morning. As we enter his hotel suite, an American news channel is blaring on the television. He instructs his

Nnamdi Kanu's Sureties Won't Lose N300 Million Bond

Image
The legal representative of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB), Mr Ifeanyi Ejiofor has advised the sureties who signed the bail bond of the now missing leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu, not to worry as they won't be held liable. PoliticsNGR gathered that Ejiofor, who has also petitioned the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, to produce Kanu in court dead or alive, added that only the court of law can determine if Kanu flouted his bail conditions or not. Ejiofor told sun; "The issue of whether Nnamdi Kanu flouted his bail conditions or not doesn’t lie in the hands of the military or even the Executive to determine. It’s the court; allow the court to decide on it. This is a matter of argument and law. The military has positioned itself as taking over the matter before a court. Is the military the enforcement arm of the court? It’s even more curious when the court has not revoked the bail; the court has not said go and arrest him, so he’s still enjoying

Image
It is common knowledge that the bigger a company gets the slower it becomes. Common decision making takes a longer process to actualise. It could mean an increase in sales or demand for products and services, increase in clienteles or even scaling - which is an upward review of organizational and managerial changes. Here are some of the facets of business that witnesses changes due to growth: Team Members The good thing about expansions in business is that it takes more duties off the entrepreneur. As the business begins to expand into specialised departments, mo
