WORD OF GOD

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word. The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever. He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. As for God, his way is perfect:
The Lord’s word is flawless;
he shields all who take refuge in him. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple.
For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. You make your saving help my shield,
and your right hand sustains me;
your help has made me great.
You provide a broad path for my feet,
so that my ankles do not give way.
